WHAT

Portland’s largest 5k Fun Run!  Join an estimated 7,500 runners for the 35th anniversary of the Legacy Health Starlight Run, a 5k (3.1-mile) run that travels the Portland Rose Festival’s Starlight Parade route in front of more than 150,000 spectators. In the last 34 years, more than 105,000 runners have covered more than 320,000 miles of fun in this official Portland Rose Festival event!  

Please maintain a 15-minute per mile pace for this event.

This year's theme:  "Portland's Party."

Top 3 men and women will receive a pair of Brooks running shoes from FitRight.

 

 

WHEN

Starlight Night, Saturday, June 1  7:45 p.m.

The Legacy Health Starlight Run will begin promptly at 7:45 p.m. Saturday evening, June 1st.  The event is open to runners of all ages and abilities.  Walking the route is not permitted because the parade begins on the heels of the run!

Please maintain a 15-minute per mile pace for this event.

WHERE

Downtown Portland

The event starts and finishes at the Lincoln High school track between SW Jefferson and SW Salmon on SW 16th, behind the school.

Everyone who registers for the Legacy Health Starlight Run will receive a coupon attached to his or her bib number for a free meal at the local area Old Spaghetti Factory restaurants.

START AND FINISH AREA

Besides our “Portland's Party” costume contest, we have exhibits, giveaways, games and live entertainment featuring "Hit Machine" on the field at Lincoln High.  You can check your warm-ups at "Clothes Check," too.  After you cross the finish line, refreshments will be available.

TRANSPORTATION

It’s parade night, so traffic will be busy in downtown Portland.  Plan on carpooling to the run or take MAX Light Rail or TriMet downtown.  Light Rail stops at the site at the Goose Hollow or Kings Hill stations on Portland's west side.  Schedules may change on this special evening.  Call Tri Met at 503-238-RIDE or check their website for more information (trimet.org).

IMPORTANT

Your costumes must adhere to the Rose Festival “tasteful” criteria standards.   Please remember that this is a family event and plan accordingly!  Please do not run back along the parade route during the run or after it’s completion.

RULES

Runners only.  This is NOT a walking event.  Maintaining a minimum 15-minute per mile pace is your guideline.  Please help us have a safe event.  Wearing headphones is discouraged.  Bicycles, dogs, skateboards, baby joggers, strollers and in-line and roller skates are prohibited.

WARM WEATHER ALERT

Be prepared for warm weather and high humidity.  Pace yourself accordingly.  Water will be available at the start and finish areas, but NOT along the 3.1-mile course.
